Called "Love21" ('cause who doesn't love having babies), it's only available in California, Texas, Utah, Arizona and Alaska - which, coincidentally, have some of the highest teen pregancy rates in the country.
I've got nothing against selling clothes to expectant young moms (I mean, they've gotta wear something), but I don't know if teen pregnancy needs to get any more fashionable than Bristol Palin and her minions have already made it. The more normal - and even trendy - teen pregnancy seems in our culture, the more lightly teens will take the consequences of unsafe sex.
What do you think? Is the new Forever 21 line glamorizing teenage pregnancy or only filling an important teen need?

I’m not offended by the Love21 line. The media (shows like The Secret Life of the American Teenager and 90210, and movies like Juno) glamorized teen pregnancy long before this line was thought of. That’s capitalism, people. I don’t think anyone is going to get pregnant because their favorite store has a trendy maternity line. This is just an effect, not a cause, of our society’s slow acceptance of teen pregnancy as a somewhat normal thing.
Honestly, everyone SHOULD be offended by the new line! Society shouldn’t lower their moral standards and accept a new norm of teenage pregnancy! By creating a new line, we’re saying “It’s okay to have a baby! Look, we have the perfect clothes for you!” I’m a teen and I’m disgusted by media portrayals of teenage pregnancies. Teenage pregnancy is a SAD REALITY and it’s absolutely not something to promote. If a bunch of teenage consumers see their favorite clothing store carry maternity, then it also implies that teenagers should be having sex. Which they shouldn’t, and it’s sad that society expects this of them. But worst of all, ignorant and apathetic teenagers today really don’t care about what’s happening, or they see it and let it happen. Come on, people! Take a stand against low expectations. Can you really not wait a few years before rushing for your lusty desires? Wow, I guess only in America.
I think it’s stupid. I agree with Cloud Castle. It’s as though it’s glamorizing teenage pregnancy, accepting it, and following it normally. It’s pretty ridiculous, to be honest, and it saddens me a bit.
I am a teen and I’m pregnant. In couple of more months I will be looking for stores to have clothes that fit me and cute enough.. I been shopping at forever21 since I was 15 and I love their clothing and now that they have this new department it makes me feel good and I know which store is going to be the first one to step on! Forever21 can’t be blamed for teens to get prego that’s so stupid, teens can’t go in the store and think that they want to get prego cus they got the cute clothes. Come on, most of us still want to look nice and it’s pretty cool that they got this.. Stupid people who blame forever21, they shud blame hormones!
I think this is crazy! its just promoting teens to have kids and wear cute clothes while they are at it! If they are a teen and having a baby they should be forced to wear whatever is at the store. they should not be looking good while they are having a baby! this is a bad idea and its just gonna promote teen pregnacy!
you honestly think that clothes is what makes teens go and have sex . and promte them to have babies because they wana look cute and be pregnant wow. u really have no idea focus on the things such as movies that prmote it to tv shows obvisouly ur not a the teens mother that happens to have a teen pregnant but if they do they do. but you wana go off and say ” what a way to make a teen go off and wana look good pregnant.” dont judge them for what they did if thats the case then why dont you do sumthing about it and hand off condoms and birth control since u have such a big opinion in it just cause a clothing store wants to sale clothing for pregant teens it dosent jus have to be for them it can be for anyone. i think you should really keep ur thoughts to yur self when it comes to saying things about pregnant teens not knowing the circamstances of it if they do or dont get pregnant that really isnt ur problem and i dont think clothing has anything to do with them getting or wanting to get preganat they may be young and not think at the time but who are we to say that !!! esepcially if you have not delt with a sistuation before …. people like me takes this offense cause u dont know the struggle if haveing to deal with a pregnant teenager but dont hold ur breath because it happens all over the world
