Guide Review - "Pictures of Hollis Woods" by Patricia Reilly Giff

The literary equivalent of a sleeper movie, "Pictures of Hollis Woods" is a truly beautiful story about the human heart's ability to love.

The first few chapters seem slow but are filled with important background that makes Hollis a much more endearing character. As a whole this book offers insight into the stubborn things people do in the name of love.

Hollis just wants to have a family to call her own. Whe she finds her place in a young family she fears she is pulling them apart and makes an unnecessary sacrifice. But her dedication to the ailing woman who heads her next foster home ends up bringing her back to the home she left behind and a love she has longed for her entire life.

A book that touches the soul and makes it glow.
