1. People & Relationships

So you think you have what it takes to be a Peer Advisor. You have a giving heart, an analytical mind, and a desire to help your peers. Great!

But, there is more to being a Peer Advisor than just giving out advice. You have to be a certain type of person, of a certain frame of mind, with the ability to separate your beliefs and opinions from the issue at hand. This is not to say that your opinions don't matter, but when you are giving advice to others it is important that helping out be your number one priority.

You are likely to read some things that will upset or concern you and that is OK. If you can't answer a question you can always notify the "team" and find someone who can. As an Advisor your peers will be coming to you for advice, not lectures or opinions. It is very important that you stay objective when posting as a Peer Advisor.
