The 15 Best Teenage Party Games

Teen Games to Play at Your Next Party

By

Planning a party for a group of teens?  Your event will be way more fun if there's more to do than just stand around eating Cheetos and trying to think of things to say.  When everyone arrives, break out one of these fun teenage party games.  They're a great way to make your party memorable and get everyone involved in the fun.

1. The Mummy

Break into groups of two or three.  Each group gets a roll of toilet paper and picks one person to be the "mummy."  When the clock starts, all the teams have to wrap their mummy using the whole roll of toilet paper.  The two teams who win are the team who rolls up their mummy the fastest and the team who has the most creative mummy.

2. I Never

Sit in a circle and give everyone a pile of 20 pieces of candy.  Go around the circle saying things that you've never done - for instance, "I've never been to Europe," or "I've never stayed up all night." After every statement, anyone who's done that thing eats a piece of their candy.  Whoever eats all their candy first is the winner.

3. Eat the Donut

Thread donuts (one donut for every two people) through a thick piece of string, and hang the string between two trees.  Break off into boy/girl pairs, and see which pair can eat their donuts first without using their hands or arms.  If the donut falls on the ground, the team is eliminated.

4. Musical Chairs

Yes, it's the same musical chairs from when you were a kid...but it can be even more fun now that you're older.  Create a song playlist and have one person control the music's starting and stopping (using a different song each time).  For a flirty twist, add a rule that as long as you're on a chair with your feet off the ground when the music stops, you're safe.  (This'll encourage a whole lot of lap-sitting.)

5. Baby, Do You Love Me?

Sit in a circle and make one person be "It."  "It" picks someone in the circle, sits on their lap and says, "Baby, if you love me, smile."  The other person has to respond, "I love you, baby, but I just can't smile!" If they crack a smile when they say it, they become "It."  If they don't smile, the person in the center has to pick a new lap to sit on and try again.

6. Freeze Dance

Make a party playlist that's fun to dance to.  Like with "musical chairs," one person is in charge of controlling the music.  While the music's playing, everyone has to shake their booties off - and when the music shuts off, anyone who doesn't freeze in place is eliminated.  The winner is the person who lasts on the dance floor the longest.

7. Lap Chain

Another flirty circle game.  Stand up in a circle and have everyone turn to face the right.  Then squeeze in, making the circle smaller and smaller, till everyone's close enough to slowly start sitting on each other's laps.  The goal is to have everyone sitting down without the chain collapsing and everyone falling on their butts.

8. Encore

Prepare game cards with words that are common in songs, like, "rain," "stay" and "hand." (Or you can just buy the official board game version here.) Break the party into two team. Flip over a card, and each team takes turns singing songs that have that word somewhere in the lyrics. When one of the teams can't come up with a song after 30 seconds, they lose the round and the other team is awarded a point. The first team to get to 10 points wins.

9. Two Truths and a Lie

This game is good for playing with people you don't know that well. Everyone takes a turn saying three statements about themselves - two that are true, and one that's a lie.  The rest of the group has to guess which one's the lie.

10. Human Pretzel

Stand in a circle, hold out both of your hands and grab each hand to another hand (belonging to anyone except for either person standing next to you).   As a group, try to "untwist" yourselves into a circle without letting go of anyone's hand.
