The end of my junior year produced an unexpected baby boom in my high school. The reason behind the sudden rise is what I call "pretty babies," or getting pregnant by a guy because you think you'll have cute kids.I've got a news flash for you, ladies. All babies are cute. The ones that you'll have at age 25 or 30 will be just as cute as the ones you'd have now, and you get the added bonus of actually being able to raise them in your own house and afford to dress them in cute clothes and buy them cute toys.
One of the pregnant girls in my senior class said that she got pregnant because "he was way too sexy not to have a baby with." Another pregnant girl referred to her boyfriend as having "baby daddy hair."
If you're that desperate to see what you and your boyfriend's baby would look like, make one of these. Don't make an actual baby.
And if you really think your boyfriend is that hot, then stay with him for another 10 years. By then, he might not be so hot anymore, and you'll be happy you waited.
Angeline continues:
Other girls in my school have been getting pregnant because their best friend did.Again, this is some dumb-as-dirt reasoning. Why are you jealous of your friend when she should be jealous of you? You're the one who can still flirt with guys, do jumping jacks, fit into your underpants and not have a watermelon tear through your vagina.
Or they get pregnant for the classic reason, to keep a boyfriend. If your boyfriend doesn't want to date you anymore, how do you think he'll feel when you manipulate him into being your baby daddy? Yeah, you might keep him around long enough to pay child support, but you can never trick him into loving you. And then you'll be stuck with a drooling, pooping, permanent reminder of how he broke your heart.
Despite shows like MTV's "16 and Pregnant," there's a glamor factor about teenage pregnancy, with girls not realizing what they're getting themselves into. I think it's partly because of those rare instances where a high school couple gets pregnant and manages to stay together and make it work, and cases like Jamie Lynn Spears, who got pregnant at sixteen and is now comfortably raising a daughter. There are always those teens who think that their situation will be different, that they won't drop out of school or have to raise a child on their own. Sadly, in most cases, it won't be.Well spoken, Angeline.
And may I just remind everyone that Jamie Lynn Spears didn't even end up with her man. They called off their engagement this past February. So much for pregnancies making your relationship perfect.
