How Did the Breakup Go Down?
We were in a long distance relationship. He had just moved to New York and he changed a lot in the couple months he was there. We started pushing each other away...before he left to New York, he cheated on me at a party, and when we talked about it...I've never seen anyone cry so hard in my entire life. I could see that he really didn't want it to happen and that he regretted it so I took him back. When he went to New York he, well, like I said...changed. And a couple months ago I found out that he had been cheating on me for a couple months while we were still together.
How Did You Get Over the Breakup?
I haven't. We haven't been together for almost a year and I'm still not over him. We started talking again and it brought up old feelings. So I'm working on not talking to him or hanging out with him anymore. It's difficult because I love being around him. I was just gonna let things be and see if they fall back together, but so far nothing. He's leaving soon and I need to let go. So I'm working on it.
Lessons Learned
- Once a cheater always a cheater.
- Just because they were in love with you at one point in time doesn't mean they'll be in love with you forever.
- If you really want to get over an ex...don't continue talking to them. It makes you want them even more.
- Don't be in a long distance relationship...things happen that you'll never know about.
- Don't be so easy to fall in love.
