Who Broke Up with Whom?

he broke up with me...

How Did the Breakup Go Down?

It was out of the blue, I still remember the day so clearly even though it was nearly 4 months ago. He was my first 'love' and a relationship that I consider to be the best - despite the ending. We were close, very close, we had had an argument the day before, he lied about where he was, just so he didn't have to see me. I met him the next day, much to his dismay, and I thought that we would just make up - it turned out he had been planning to break up with me for ages claiming it was cause he couldn't deal with 'commitment.' He told me it was over and left me alone in town.

How Did You Get Over the Breakup?

I still haven't, 4 months on and every time I imagine him with someone else I feel physically sick. But I am better than I was before - it took A LOT, lots of films, chocolate, music, a tip for all: no matter how much you want to, DO NOT listen to sad music or ones that you relate to your ex. It'll only make you cry and worsen the situation.

Busy yourself! Make sure that you have something to do...all the time. This means that you are not sitting reminiscing on the past. Whatever you do - do not do what I did and start pestering him/her, they just end up not wanting anything to do with you.

I still haven't had another boyfriend since, but I feel comfortable knowing that I had him at all.

Lessons Learned

  • You are worth so much more than they can ever imagine if they break up with you
  • They aren't worth your time if they refuse to talk to you after the breakup
  • DO keep your friends close, but don't bore them with endless stories of how much you miss your ex
  • Just enjoy yourself: concentrate on something that you are passionate about, for me it was film, but it could be your hobbies or the career you are interested in/are in.
