Share Your Story: My First Breakup

From Abberz

How Long Had You Been Dating Before the Breakup?

A month and a half

Who Broke Up with Whom?

He broke up with me

How Did the Breakup Go Down?

I was over at my friend's house, and we were texting my boyfriend. There were rumors at school that he was going to break up with me, and I just wanted to know. So, I asked him are you really going to break up with me. I thought that he was going to reply no, because we were fine. We were still kissing, and I was in love with him. Sure enough, a couple minutes later the message read yeah, I'm really sorry. I cried all night long after we talked on the phone. The next day at school, everyone heard about it, and were asking if I was okay and stuff. That just made it worse. I don't want other people feeling sorry for me.

How Did You Get Over the Breakup?

It took my four months, but I finally did it, after we got into this giant fight. We were friends, and then we got into a fight about how he actually didn't want to be friends with me, he just felt bad for me that I was a sad and pathetic loser. That was when I realized that he was stupid and I was better then him. He will always have a special place in my heart, but I got over him.

Lessons Learned

  • Don't break up with someone over a text message. Do it in person. It shows that you are a better person. You can't be friends with someone after you break up. No matter what. Just because he broke up with you, doesn't mean your life is over. Just let him go.
