How Did the Breakup Go Down?
We weren't dating long, but I was completely in love with him and the thought of him breaking up with me never crossed my mind. Since it was long distance, he emailed me telling me to call him. He broke up with me by phone. He was shocked at how calm and not mad I was. =) He wouldn't tell me why he broke up with me, only assuring me that it was nothing I had done. I didn't believe him, and later found out it was because he wanted to date a girl in his class that he promised me he didn't like a couple of weeks ago. But he felt really bad and he really was a good guy.
How Did You Get Over the Breakup?
It was hard because he went on to date a ton of other girls and I didn't. We began to fight a lot soon afterward and that only made things worse, we just started getting along again after a year. To get over him I blasted breakup songs and talked to friends. I cried a lot because I really really liked him and to be honest there's a part of me that still does. But now I have a great boyfriend and he's single because girls took notice of how quickly he moved on after each breakup. =)
Lessons Learned
- Wait a while before you completely fall for a boy, especially when you're young
- To get over a guy, get rid of things that remind you of him and get busy
- I've always had this idea that after every breakup, you should try something new, it helps you feel like a different, wiser person, and maybe even then something good can come out of a bad relationship.
