What Age were You?

If you feel like you're not ready at the moment, it's never too late to say no. You shouldn't have to feel uncomfortable. Just do what feels right in your heart.

Who and Where?

Me and the guy had become really good friends over a few months at school. We had nicknames for each other and even said we were best friends, and we both had just came out of very long relationships. I had just turned 13 and he was almost 14. One of our close friends was throwing a big party for anybody who was considered cool, so we both went, and that's where it happened.

How Did it Happen?

Another one of our friends was having a party a couple of blocks away, so me and him went between parties with some other friends. I could tell that he wanted some time alone as we walked past a park, but I ignored it because I wanted to party. When we were back to the first party I was sitting on the couch talking with my girls and he was in the kitchen with the boys. When I went to get some punch, he pulled me aside to tell me that his ex-girlfriend was outside so we ran to see. A minute after, I figured out that she wasn't. I realized what was going to happen. He pulled me to the side of the house against the wall so I couldn't escape. I didn't feel ready and wanted to go back inside, but before I could say anything, his lips were forced against mine. He stopped and looked at me, then went for it again, this time better. Before I knew it he started using tongue. My arms were paralyzed. I didn't know what to do, so I did what he did. After two minutes of this we went inside. I went to the bathroom and he followed but this time I said no, so he walked away. I washed out my mouth with water. I had never felt that feeling before. I didn't know if I liked it or not. We both acted like nothing happened and ignored each other the rest of the night.

Advice

  • I definitely wasn't ready for a make out session like he was. I felt so awkward because he was like a brother to me. I should have said no the first time. It was definitely not what I had pictured for my first kiss.
