What Kind of Kiss was It?

Who and Where?

My best friend, by the fence just outside the school science wing by the softball field.

How Did it Happen?

My best guy friend had had a thing for me ever since he broke up with his ex, but I had never considered him as anything more than a friend. However, eventually I started noticing him a bit more and although I did not realize it, I developed feelings for him. After he broke up with his ex, he dated this other girl. But eventually he broke up with her and I kinda felt like he still liked me. One day, he was doing me some kind of favor (NOT that kind....I don't even remember what it was) and we were texting and he said he wanted something in return. I had been thinking about how I wanted to get my first kiss over with already, so I texted back "I'll kiss you?" He said he would like that, but he wasn't sure if it was a good idea. Eventually I convinced him that I just wanted my first kiss over with and it wouldn't mean anything. He agreed. So after school the next day we walked around outside, coincidentally by this fence I used to climb for fun with his ex-girlfriend. I mentioned this and he said he bet he could climb it, but I knew he had hurt his foot so I said I bet he couldn't, and he asked me what I bet, and I said a kiss. He kinda looked at me like "yeah right" and said "You already did...". Then I wrapped my arms around his neck and he kissed me. It was a lot quicker than I expected, I didn't even have time to close my eyes. It was a little wet and cold, but still nice. We walked back into school and I was ironically the calm one while he was babbling like an idiot, I think he was nervous. Awkward for him, surprisingly not so awkward for me. Anyway, I realized that I really did like him back and we dated for a couple months. I ended it because I missed being best friends, and we completely defied the stereotype that exes can't be friends :)

Advice

  • Know how I really felt about that person
  • I would have been more prepared so maybe it could have lasted longer.....
  • I would have found a better location.
