Who and Where?

A crush, in a Taco Bell at 3 A.M.

How Did it Happen?

One summer night my best friend and I were waiting for her cousin to get off work. I had a huge crush on him, but he was being a real jerk, and he had ditched out on hanging out with us for the 3rd time in a row. Fed up, I decided to give up on him for good. To make me feel better in the best way she knew how, my friend drove to a 24-hour truckstop with a Taco Bell so we could sit and talk. This truck pulled up next to us, and these two boys got out and sat down inside the restaurant. I looked very hard at the two of them and recognized one as a boy I had been very interested in several months earlier, and had always thought was incredibly good-looking. On the spur of the moment, I grabbed my friend and we went inside to sit next to them. Being myself, I began cracking jokes to break the tension, and whatever I was saying (I don't remember) made everyone at the table laugh really hard. I was flirting with the cute boy, and he was very shy, but he seemed to be responding well. When the boys got up to go, my friend and I headed out as well - but just before we reached the door, I grabbed the cute boy, swung him around and planted a kiss on his mouth. He was shocked at first; it was his first kiss, but once he caught on he responded very enthusiastically. After a little while I pulled away from him and whispered that I had always wanted to do that. The next week at school he came to lunch with my friends and I - and we have been together ever since, almost a year now and still going strong. (:

Advice

  • I would not do anything different. I'm so proud of what I did. My advice is to take risks! Put yourself out there! You never know, it may be the best decision you ever make.
  • (However that is not to say that a random kiss is always the best option. Be careful when using that tactic! Make sure the other party likes you back! Heheh)
