Who and Where?
We knew each other for about a year, but only saw each other one week when we went camping. We started dating, and then he had to leave. We were in an empty campsite.
How Did it Happen?
I had just finished helping him and his family pack up their stuff. We were going to take the long way to see his cousins so he could say goodbye to them. We stopped in an empty campsite first so we could say goodbye to each other. It was lightly raining outside, and it had poured the night before. He said, "I'd offer you a seat, but I don't think you want to sit on the wet bench." I just shrugged, not knowing what to say. We were standing about four feet away from each other. He then said, "Should we hug, or kiss, or....." I held my arms open and we both walked a few steps until we were in each other's arms. We hugged each other tightly, and my face was resting on his chest. I closed my eyes, trying not to think about the fact that it would be another year before I would get to see him. He pulled away slightly and I looked up at him. He then said, after looking into my eyes for a few seconds, "Should we..." "I don't know. I've never..." "Neither have I." And then we both leaned towards each other and I closed my eyes as our lips met. I don't know how long we stayed there before somebody pulled away. We returned back to the hug, but this time, I had a smile on my face.
We dated for about three months, but now we still talk and are good friends.
Advice
- I wouldn't change a thing about the kiss.
- I would have, however, made sure we actually talked on the phone more than we did instead of texting most of the time.
