What Did It Feel Like?
It felt like every time I spoke to him, my day would instantly become brighter! I'd think about what it would be like to have him as my own. He'd just be constantly on my mind. Whenever I hugged him I felt as if nothing could touch me and we were the only people on Earth. Whenever I spoke I just felt as if I could talk to him about everything!
What Happened Next?
Well to start with a friend had told him a while ago that I liked him and he said he thought I was hot but he wasn't looking for a serious girlfriend. That's we started talking more and every day when I saw him he'd hug me. We had some pretty intimate moments like just gazing mindlessly into each other's eyes but we never got round to kissing. Everything was going well til out of the blue he got a girlfriend. I didn't really care at the time was it wasn't long before reality sunk in. After summer vacation we got really close as friends and would spend entire lessons smiling and pulling stupid faces at each other. We don't hug or have any physical contact because he cares about his girl so much he refuses to do anything that'll make her remotely jealous. To this day they are still together, were still the best of friends and I still have that piece of myself that'll always like him as more than a friend.
Lessons Learned
- I don't reallly think my story has a moral. Except that sometimes if you don't make a move somebody else will and you'll regret not doing it for a long time. It did teach me that even if you can't have someone on a romantic level having as your bestest friend can fill the hole.
- I also realised that the hardest thing in life is watching the one you love, love someone else....
