When Did You Realize It was Love?

2 Months into the relationship...

What Did It Feel Like?

It feel great at first. I was always always smiling and laughing because he made me really happy. I remember when he asked me out, it was March 5th 2009 and I was on my way to the Houston rodeo. We'd been friends for a while and I knew that he liked me, I just didn't know how to react to it. That night he called me and he begged me to be his girlfriend, so I said yes! We were together for 10 months and we had a lot of ups and downs. I thought he was happy like I was but I guess I was wrong. At first our relationship was good, we were all lovey dovey all the time and people looked at us like we were in love.

What Happened Next?

He always told me he loved me. But 3 months into the relationship I found out he was cheating on me with another girl. I remember crying my eyes out for weeks at a time. After a few weeks he came back to me and I took him back like an idiot. After that he kept breaking me one slice at a time for no reason and cheating on me. And I would take him back, but than he pulled the last straw. He did it again and I had enough. I was tired of crying and crying over him. I mean I loved him, but he just wasn't worth crying over anymore. It broke my heart into pieces but I had to let him go.... It was time to put the past behind me and start over.

Lessons Learned

  • I learned that you are always going to remember your first love no matter what, the memories of what we used to be will always remain in my heart. But sometimes you have to forget what you want and remember what you deserve.
  • Love is a good thing, it shouldn't hurt. A lot of teenagers fall in love and they think it's going to last forever but it doesn't.
  • Your first love will never go away, even though you move on you will always remember the feeling you got the first time you fell in love.
