"Nothing Else was Important - Only Him"

Share Your Story: My First Love

From Rebz

Who Was It With?

A boy in my class named Zac

When Did You Realize It was Love?

When school first started, he was the new kid. I loved him immediately!

What Did It Feel Like?

Like all of a sudden nothing else was important, only him, and it felt pretty good. I was a bit scared though, because I thought he might of have liked me.

What Happened Next?

A week after I had met him I asked him out, and we went to the park together, climbed up on a tree and listened to music toghether, it felt very good, but the day after we went back to school and I told my friends about the date and that I had a huge crush on Zac. But it was almost like Zac had forgotten about it. Nothing changed, we were still just friends, so I made a second move and told him that I loved him, and asked him if he wanted to be my boyfriend. He said "I have to think about it," then two days after he told me that he thought it was too early to get into a serious relationship, but he told me he liked me, even if he wasn't sure he "loved" me. A few days after, my friend tells me that Zac told her he loved her. I felt very jealous and also sad, I hadn't been able to stop thinking about him, and so I texted him repeating what I had said the first time, but he never responded and that is how it ended. We just were friends again.

Lessons Learned

  • I learned that you should wait until you are positive that you love him and never propose to him too early!
  • Never rush yourself when you are telling him your love.
  • Don't get your hopes up, otherwise you will just get a broken heart.
  • Do stuff that he likes on dates, even if you don't have a lot of fun.
  • Try to keep your love a secret until you are boyfriend and girlfriend.
