When Did You Realize It was Love?
Late 5th grade (now it's the summer break between 6th and 7th)
What Did It Feel Like?
Well, I guess it was cool. I mean, he also kinda had the same feelings about me for maybe... a month? And I was happy when I was with him, and OK without him - phones and email were used A LOT! In the beginning of me noticing I liked him, I searched the internet trying to find the difference between love, lust, and obsession. I decided it was not lust or obsession.
What Happened Next?
As I said, he said he loved me for about a month. We got together, the biggest thing we did was hold hands to help each other onto a trampoline when help wasn't needed. I was truly happy those 30 days.
Then this person named Nicole on my soccer team (who I never really liked) met Zack. I found out he liked her one day while we were walking through the woods (silently) and I experimentally slid my hand into his. He pulled away, and...yeah. After he told me he didn't love me I told him that I don't love him anymore, either. We're still really good friends and I'm glad he didn't go and date her or something without telling me. I value his path and got on with my life...but I still secretly love him. Just waiting for him to realize.
Lessons Learned
- Check your facts before you spill the beans.
- Savor every moment of it - it will probably end soon.
- When they move on, if you still love them, don't look for someone else. Just keep quiet until they notice.
- Never give up, but never push it.
