What was the Worst Moment of Your First Day?
We have a rotating lunch schedule and I was going to sit with my friend, but I didn't see him, so I sat with some other girls I knew. I mean, sure I got lost a little but it wasn't that bad. Just ask a teacher and you should be fine (there's so much traffic I wouldn't suggest trying to stop someone, you might be stampeded!) So really nothing to scarring, haha. It's not as bad as people make it out to be!
What was the Best Moment of Your First Day?
Well, I found my Young Adult Lit class pretty fast and it was a pretty good class. So far I like it. And I was pretty unhappy that I didn't have friends in many/any of my classes but I went to Science and my friend was like "are you going to science right now?" "yes" "YOU'RE IN MY CLASS!!!" and I had a few other friends, too, so I was pretty stoked. And on my second day (we have 7 classes and only 5 periods for them to be in so 2 are on the next day, it's pretty weird) I had World History first and there were a bunch of people I knew and a few that I liked/was friends with so that definitely helped. Don't worry if you don't make friends the first couple of days! It was my 3rd day today and I made a new friend today... Once you've been to all your classes and settled in a bit it'll be a lot less stressful to try and make friends!
What I'd Do Differently
- I only know 3 days worth of high school and my friend's older sister helped us find where we were going first period the first day (we all happened to be in the same house) so it was a little bit easier.
- Don't worry, once you get there it's just like 8th grade with a lot more kids and a bigger school.
- Don't get nervous about being a little late during your first week. Teachers understand it's a big school and you're bound to get lost a few times. It happens to everyone sometimes!
- Even though kids say HS is AMAZING your first couple days just feel like school. It's confusing but you'll catch on no problem!
